The last time UFC President Dana White and Floyd Mayweather struck a deal, they nearly broke the record for domestic pay-per-view buys.

Three years after “The Money Fight,” Mayweather still hasn’t taken a step into the octagon. But White said he’s still talking with the retired boxing champ about another co-promotion.

White told TMZ he and Mayweather are “interested on both sides” in another event, which is “very possible,” though he nixed a rematch between “Money” and Conor McGregor.

McGregor, who on Saturday announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin, is out of the picture as long as his retirement sticks. And while few insiders expect it will, White said he’s proceeding without the UFC star until things change.

“I know [Mayweather] would rematch Conor McGregor, but I don’t know if you heard about this, but Conor McGregor’s retired,” White said. “When I’m doing things right now and running business, I don’t even think about Conor. Conor is retired. As of right here now today, Conor is retired until Conor tells me differently, I’m not trying to make any fights for Conor.”

The UFC split profits with Mayweather Promotions as the promoters of record for “The Money Fight”; Mayweather and McGregor respectively earned $100 million and $30 million guaranteed purses for their boxing match, which Mayweather won via TKO in the 10th round. After pay-per-view bonuses were factored in, both fighters reportedly banked well into the nine figures.

Reports said the UFC generated over $700 million in revenue in 2017, no thanks to the massive windfall from “The Money Fight.” White said the boxing match was the biggest selling pay-per-view ever with 6.7 million buys.

With that many zeroes potentially in play, and both the UFC and Mayweather Promotions looking to kickstart revenues after the shock of the coronavirus pandemic, which prompted the boxing promotion to apply for assistance via the Paycheck Protection Program, there’s no doubt both sides will try to find a way to work together again.
