A third fight has been removed from UFC Vegas 16.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that the flyweight bout between Cody Durden and Jimmy Flick will no longer take place on the fight card on Saturday at UFC APEX in Las Vegs. The scratch is not related to COVID-19, the people said.

Twitter user MagicM MMA first reported the cancellation. The plan is to try and re-book the matchup for the UFC’s Dec. 19 event, multiple people told MMA Fighting, though nothing is official.

Durden was set to make his second promotional appearance and his first in the octagon at 125 pounds. In his octagon debut, the 29-year-old stepped in on short notice and fought Chris Gutierrez to a draw at UFC Vegas 5.

Flick was set to make his promotional debut after earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series with a submission win over Nate Smith. “The Brick” has won three straight fights and five of six with all of his wins coming via submisson.

UFC Vegas 16 will move forward with eight fights after the loss of Montana De La Rosa vs. Taila Santos and Movsar Evloev vs. Nate Landwehr.
