Oscar De La Hoya was expected to make his boxing comeback under the Triller banner earlier this month in Los Angeles, but a late case of COVID-19 bounced him from his Vitor Belfort fight, which eventually went to geriatric pugilist Evander Holyfield in Florida.

“The Real Deal” was felled in the opening frame.

Now that De La Hoya has made a full recovery, following “five days of hell,” the 48 year-old “Golden Boy” is hoping to secure a $100 million payday against boxing icon and longtime rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., no stranger to the celebrity fight circuit.

“Five days of hell,” De La Hoya told TMZ Sports about his COVID recovery. “And guess what? You know who I’m gonna call out for my next fight? Floyd Mayweather. I’ll offer Floyd Mayweather $100 million. Let’s do it. I would have knocked (Belfort) out in 30 seconds. Let’s go.”

Mayweather is currently signed to Showtime Boxing.

De La Hoya (39-6) lost his WBC light middleweight title to Mayweather when they first went to war back in May 2007. The Olympic gold medalist would retire the following year in the wake of his Manny Pacquiao loss in Las Vegas.

Mayweather has yet to respond to “The Golden Boy’s” callout.
