 Sanchez v Turman

Middleweight veteran Andrew Sanchez scored his first Octagon finish earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 8, 2020) at UFC Vegas 6 live on ESPN+ from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, when he toppled Brazilian prospect Wellington Turman via first-round knockout (punch).

Both middleweights are known for their grappling abilities but they quickly showcased worthy skills on the feet. Turman was able to land some impressive front kicks up the middle before Sanchez started to take over. From straight punches to the body to hard counter hooks, Sanchez mixed it up well. Turman hung in tough before Sanchez blasted him with a right hand to the temple and the final few moments of the fight played out on the canvas.

With this performance, Sanchez gets back into the 185-pound win column after dropping a decision to underrated contender Marvin Vettori last October. Sanchez hasn’t been incredibly consistent since entering the promotion just over four years ago, but more finishes like this one will quickly launch the 32-year-old close to the middleweight top 15.
