Sean O’Malley has seemingly turned his back on Conor McGregor once again.
The world expected to see the return of the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight and Lightweight champion, McGregor, at UFC 303 last month (June 29, 2024). Unfortunately for McGregor and fans around the globe, a broken pinky toe forced his withdrawal from the planned main event against Michael Chandler.
Despite his extended absence from action since July 2021, McGregor has continued to take shots at his once-peers. Mike Perry and Jake Paul caught the brunt of those examples this past weekend (July 20, 2024). UFC Bantamweight champion, O’Malley, earned himself a laughing emoji response from McGregor to a clip talking about his Ostarine experience today (Mon., July 22, 2024). “Sugar” responded in a less than-sweet fashion.
“Miss the old Conor :(“ O’Malley tweeted. “you fell off bud. Still a fan tho. I actually don’t care you are 1-4 in your last 5 I’m stills excited to watch. Hope the toe is feeling better.
“Conor isn’t in anyone GOAT talk,” he continued. “Entertainment yes but skills, no. Has a really good left hand. Sh*t Cardio. Weak Jits. Decently athletic. Mentally weak. Drug addict, needs rehab. 1-4 last 5 fights. Still fan tho. Hope toe heals up”
McGregor’s now-deleted response was to O’Malley describing on his YouTube channel his experience with the aforementioned drug, Ostarine, which he claimed studies showed it was transferable through sweat. Therefore, explaining why he’s tested positive for it.
O’Malley, 29, hasn’t had any performance-enhancing drug (PED) issues in his UFC career and continues to shine early into his run as the 135-pound champion. O’Malley is expecting his second title defense to come against the No. 1-ranked contender, Merab Dvalishvili, before 2024 ends.
