Anderson Silva and Kelvin Gastelum will finally throw down at UFC Shanghai in November

A previously booked fight from UFC Rio has traveled across the world to Shanghai for the UFC’s first event in China.

The Spider and the UFC have apparently made up.

The last we heard from Anderson Silva, the former GOAT was not happy with the UFC or UFC president Dana White after they were unable to secure him a worthy opponent for a card in Rio. But whatever is going on with their relationship, Silva will return to action for the UFC's first card in Shanghai, China. His opponent? Kelvin Gastelum, who was originally set to fight Silva in Rio before a drug failure for marijuana scuttled the bout.

The UFC's Shanghai card will take place on November 25th and marks the first card to take place in China. A previous card in the 'Las Vegas of Asia' Macau is technically part of an autonomous region to the west of Hong Kong.

Anderson Silva has had a hard couple of years since losing his first fight in 17 matches to Chris Weidman in 2013. Including that fight, he's gone 4-1-1, with a win against Nick Diaz overturned to a No Contest after "The Spider" tested positive for drostanolone and androsterone. His record could be even worse, but a gift decision against Derek Brunson in his most recent fight at UFC 208 has him back in the win column.

Kelvin Gastelum is looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Chris Weidman from July. Before that he went on a three fight win with victories over Johny Hendricks, Tim Kennedy, and Vitor Belfort. That last one was overturned to a No Contest due to that aforementioned marijuana drug failure, but we doubt that helped him knock Belfort out so we're still considering it a win.

No other fights have been announced for the Shanghai card at this time. For more information on upcoming UFC cards, click here.
