Ariane Lipski to defend flyweight title against Silvana Gomez Juarez at KSW 42

One of the most highly touted female fighters outside of the UFC, Ariane Lipski, will defend her flyweight title for the second time against Silvana Gomez Juarez at KSW 42 in Lodz, Poland, on March 3.

KSW announced the title fight on Friday morning.

Lipski (10-3) is unbeaten in four outings under the KSW banner. After a second-round victory in her promotional debut at KSW 33, the Brazilian scored a first-round TKO win over UFC veteran, Sheila Gaff, at KSW 36.

“The Violence Queen” claimed the promotion’s title by submitting Romanian opponent, Diana Belbita, with an armbar in the first round of the their championship clash at the groundbreaking KSW 39: Colosseum event.

She scored another resounding win over Invicta veteran, Mariana Morais, at KSW 40. She finished her fellow Brazilian with a first round rear-naked choke to defend her title for the first time.

KSW 42 will be the first time that Argentinian Juarez (6-1) has competed outside of South America. She returned to the win column with a first-round victory over fellow Argentinian, Maria Vega, last March coming off her sole professional loss to UFC strawweight, Poliana Botelho, in the XFC title fight back in 2015.

Interestingly, Juarez is scheduled to compete for LFA’s flyweight title a week after KSW 42 when she meets champion Sabina Mazo Isaza, at LFA 35.

KSW 42 will be headlined by a champion versus champion bout pitting middeweight kingpin, Mamed Khalidov, against light heavyweight title-holder, Tomasz Narkun. UFC veteran Scott Askham is set to make his promotional debut at the event when he faces Polish fan favorite, Michal Materla. Lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot is also scheduled to defend his title on the night against Grzegorz Szulakowski.
