Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz rubber match on Dec. 30 is NOT TRUE according to Dana White

Now that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor is done making his millions in the “sweet science,” it’s time for “Notorious” to return to mixed martial arts (MMA) to defend his 155-pound strap.

The winner of this fight would be a good start.

Also looming on the horizon is a potential rubber match against Nate Diaz, as the part-time welterweight have some unfinished business after splitting a pair of wins at UFC 196 (Diaz) and UFC 202 (McGregor).

But if and when it does happen, it won’t be at the UFC 219 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., Dec. 30, 2017 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to promotion president Dana White.

And whenever White says it’s NOT TRUE we know he’s NOT LYING.

McGregor has competed twice since his decision win over Diaz at UFC 202, planishing Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title at UFC 205, before moving on to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. last month in “Sin City.”

Diaz, however, has been riding the pine in the hopes that he’ll be able to make yet another monstrous payday with a “Notorious” trilogy. You know what they say about smoke and fire, but does the fact that White responded mean anything in terms of validity?

I guess we’ll know soon enough.
