Injury forces Matt Brown out of UFC on FOX 29 bout with Carlos Condit

Just one day after Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov was wiped off the schedule, another April fight fans had savored is also off.

The welterweight matchup between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown, which was slated to be the co-feature attraction of UFC on FOX 29 in Glendale, Ariz., is off. MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani learned Monday that Brown had to withdraw from the April 14 event due to a torn ACL.

UFC officials are attempting to arrange a substitute opponent for Condit (30-11), a former WEC champion and UFC interim champion. Condit lost his return to action after a long hiatus back at UFC 219, a unanimous decision against Neil Magny.

This is not the first time a Condit-Brown fight has fallen out. The duo were slated to meet at UFC on FOX 9 in 2013, but Brown pulled out due to a back injury.
