Manager: McGregor Wants To Fight ASAP

In a short message posted on social media, Audie Attar decried the ‘rumors and misinformation’ surrounding McGregor.

Conor McGregor has yet to break his silence following an attack on a bus full of UFC fighters at the Barclays Center on Thursday that landed him in jail. Everything surrounding the incident seems pretty obvious and straight forward ... we have multiple camera accounts of the incident and confirmation that it was in retaliation for a run-in between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor’s BFF Artem Lobov earlier this week.

That hasn’t stopped McGregor’s manager Audie Attar from taking to the internet to decry all the “rumor and misinformation about my client.”

”So much rumor and misinformation about my client, Conor McGregor,” Attar wrote. “The matter is in the hands of law enforcement and I cannot really say more. Conor is a great father, a fiercely loyal friend, and one of the best athletes in the world. He looks forward to getting back to fighting as soon as possible.”

The short statement has drawn a fair amount of confusion from MMA fans who are wondering exactly what kind of misinformation Attar is referring to. No one is talking about McGregor’s quality of parenting or friendship, either. Just the injuries he caused to fighters that had no connection to his quarrel with Khabib.

Stating McGregor wants to compete ASAP is interesting, too. Is Attar hoping the possibility of McGregor returning for another UFC fight is enough to make the promotion reconsider any suspensions or sanctions they may issue? Honestly, he may be right. But it’s a bit of a tone deaf message to send out following an incident UFC president Dana White has dubbed ‘the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in the history of the company.’
