Mayweather vs McGregor results: FOX ‘Prelims’ live recap, updates

The biggest and priciest fight in combat sports history will unfold later tonight (Sat., Aug. 26, 2017) live on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor enters the boxing ring for the first time against undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Before the premier bouts get underway on PPV starting at 9 p.m. ET, two undercard bouts are scheduled to go down on FOX starting at 7 p.m. ET. The action includes a 147-pound clash between former WBO light welterweight title challenger Thomas Dulorme (24-2, 16 KOs) and Cuban Olympian Yordenis Ugas (19-3, 9 KOs), who is filling in on short notice after former IBF champion Shawn Porter withdrew from the card.

Find out what happened right here as the ‘Mayweather vs. McGregor’ FOX undercard recaps roll in real-time:

Thomas Dulorme vs. Yordenis Ugas (welterweight - 147 lbs.)

In the FOX preliminary headliner, former WBO light welterweight title challenger Dulorme (24-3, 16 KOs) looked to win his third straight when he took on Cuban Olympic medalist Ugas (20-3, 9 KOs), who was filling in for former IBF welterweight champion Shawn Porter. After both men came out of the gate hot Ugas started to land hard rights over the top and to the body. Ugas ended up knocking Dulorme down after an exchange inside. Dulorme tried to recover but the Cuban blasted him with more shots and scored another short knockdown before the end of Round 2.

Ugas continued to pour it on Dulorme with multiple combinations high and low, as well as a lead left hook that temporarily wobbled the former title challenger. Dulorme came out a little more aggressive in Round 4, but Ugas remained heavy inside while landing the better shots. The action came to a brief stop when Dulorme landed an inadvertent low blow, but Ugas quickly bounced back.

Dulorme finally took some control when he blasted Ugas with a hard left hand to begin Round 6, but he then landed two more low blows before the frame came to a close. In Round 7, Dulorme again hit Ugas below the belt, this time resulting in a one point deduction. Fortunately for Dulorme, he was able to gain some points back with a monstrous left hook that dropped Ugas right before the end of the round. Dulorme continued his comeback onslaught in Rounds 8-10 by leaping in for shots and going hard to the body on a slowed Ugas.

Despite a late comeback, including a knockdown, Dulorme was unable to ward off Ugas on the scorecards, losing via unanimous decision.

Juan Heraldez vs. Jose Miguel Borrego (welterweight - 147 lbs.)

Two undefeated prospects squared off earlier tonight in an interesting battle of welterweights, as 27-year-old Las Vegas native Heraldez (13-0, 8 KOs) went toe-to-toe with Mexican knockout artist Borrego (12-1, 11 KOs). Heraldez relied on a lead jab, combinations inside, and slick distance control to land early and often. Borrego kept moving forward with aggression, but Heraldez slipped and ripped on queue like a matador controlling a bull.

While Heraldez continued to rule the way with footwork, reaction time, head movement, and shot selection for the duration of eight rounds, Borrego found a home for a huge left hook to the temple in Round 9 that dropped the Vegas native. Heraldez was able to get back to his feet, but noticeably slowed following the knockdown. Borrego continued a pressurized pace into Round 10, but Heraldez channeled his early-fight form and landed good shots to score some valuable points.

In the end, despite the massive knockdown by Borrego late into the fight, Heraldez escaped with the unanimous decision victory
