McBail Set At $50k For Brooklyn Bus Attack

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor, who may lose that designation depending on what happens at the UFC 223 pay-per-view (PPV) this Saturday night in Brooklyn, New York, was arraigned on Friday (April 6, 2018) on charges of assault.

Bail was set at $50,000 ($25,000 for friend and accomplice Cian Cowley) and McGregor will be allowed to return to Ireland as part of the agreement. He’s expected back in court on June 14 to answer for his crimes.

The unapologetic “Notorious” and his gang of goons went after lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov at the conclusion of the UFC 223 media day on Thursday, retaliation for “The Eagle” confronting SBG Ireland stablemate Artem Lobov a few days prior (video).

The melee left several fighters injured, including UFC 223 competitors Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg, who have since been removed from tomorrow night’s fight card. Lobov was also yanked for his role in the bus attack (watch it).

Orders of protection against McGregor and Cowley were sought on behalf of Michael Chiesa, Ray Borg and two others, according to Adam Hill, including social media. Any attempt to contact would leave to rearrest.

Nurmagomedov is in search of a new opponent after Max Holloway, a late replacement for the injured Tony Ferguson, was ruled medically unfit to compete and pulled from the UFC 223 line up by New York State Athletic Commission (NSAC).
