Mixed martial arts (MMA) media members fighting Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) .... sounds like a great idea.
BKFC is back this weekend (Sat., Oct. 12, 2024) on its new platform, DAZN, for the very first time. The show will take place inside Marbella Arena in Marbella, Spain, and feature three title fights. BKFC on DAZN: Tenaglia vs. Soto goes down at 2:00 PM ET.
Franco Tenaglia takes on Tony Soto for the vacant Lightweight championship in the main event. In the co-main event, Austin Trout puts his Welterweight title on the line for the first time against Rico Franco. The “Featured” bout sees David Mundell defending his Middleweight title against Danny Christie.
However, opening up the main card is sort of a freak show fight. MMA journalist Oscar Willis, who runs Conor McGregor’s outlet The MacLife, takes on MMA play-by-play commentator Ben Davis in an amateur BKFC match.
UFC CEO Dana White was asked this past Tues. about the matchup, and he was dumbfounded.
“What?!? Don’t do it,” White said. “Is that why he isn’t here? So, he is fighting bare-knuckle. He’s a great kid; I wish him all the luck in the world. I hope he doesn’t get his face busted up.”
Dana White learns MMA media will be fighting on the BKFC card on Saturday.

Willis, who fought in an amateur MMA fight (and won) in 2022, has called upon top UFC Lightweight Dan Hooker to corner him, and the “The Hangman” has obliged.
