Referee, judging assignments revealed for ‘Mayweather vs McGregor’ in Las Vegas

Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) was back in session on Wednesday (Aug. 16, 2017) to vote on all things combat sports, including the highly-anticipated — kinda/sorta — “Money Fight” between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor.

Charged with refereeing their boxing match will be veteran official Robert Byrd, who collects $25,000 for his 12-round duties. In addition, judges Burt Clements, Dave Moretti, and Guido Cavalleri, will score the ringside action and bank $20,000 for their efforts.

Mayweather vs. McGregor pits one of the greatest pugilists of our generation against the most popular fighter in mixed martial arts (MMA). That said, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight titleholder has never boxed professionally, which better explains the odds and betting lines (see them here).

The action gets underway a week from Saturday night (Aug. 26, 2017) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, live on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV). For a closer look at the upcoming “Money Fight” click here.
