Seven bouts added to UFC 216

On Tuesday, seven fights were announced for the upcoming UFC 216 pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., on Oct. 7.

Several intriguing lightweight contests were added to the card, including a battle between striking specialists Lando Vannata and Abel Trujillo. “Groovy” is just 1-2 in the Octagon so far, but he’s earned performance bonuses in each of his UFC appearances including his most recent Fight of the Night outing against David Teymur that ended in Vannata taking a unanimous decision loss.

Trujillo saw a three-fight win streak halted in his last fight when he was submitted by James Vick. The Blackzilians product holds a 6-3 UFC record with one no-contest.

In other action, Evan Dunham looks for his fifth consecutive victory when he takes on Beneil Dariush, and former Bellator champion Will Brooks fights Nik Lentz.

UFC veterans Thales Leites and Brad Tavares will meet in a middleweight bout, while one-time flyweight contender John Moraga faces undefeated Russian fighter Magomed Bibulatov.
