Anthony Joshua will return to action in front of a record-breaking 96,000 boxing fans tomorrow night (Sat., Sept. 21, 2024) LIVE on DAZN pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Wembley Arena in London, England, as the U.K. star meets IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in the main event.
Joshua, who is coming off a ridiculous knockout finish over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in combat sports today. While Dubois will be the one defending his title this weekend in London, the reason for the insane sellout at Wembley Arena in due mostly to Joshua’s popularity and ability to promote a fight.
Both heavyweights have traded trash talk leading up to this grudge match and it’s making things that much more interesting. Joshua will be the betting favorite heading into this weekend, but Dubois has some serious punching power capable of spoiling anyone’s night. One misstep from Joshua and he could be left looking up at the stars.
On Friday, the two men came face-to-face for one final staredown at the official weigh ins in London. The tension could be cut with a knife, but at least nobody tried to get physical on stage. It was still a critical moment leading into Saturday’s title fight set to do gown in front of nearly 100,000 people.
