Thoughts: Well, if you’re going with Demian Maia for the upset, might as well grab him by submission (+250) rather than straight-up (+170). He doesn’t have the gas tank to hold someone this strong down for five rounds and he has no inclination to pounding people out, which can be a hazard when betting on quality grapplers to win by submission.
I’d also take the Over 4.5 Rounds (-170) on Jones-Cormier 2. Even with Jones’ layoff and laundry list of issues, it’s hard to envision either man stopping the other. If you’re confident enough to pick one to win, pick them by decision. Jones at even odds and Cormier at +475 are both quality investments.
Jimi Manuwa vs. Volkan Oezdemir going the distance (+250) may also be worth, like, ten bucks. Manuwa has spurts of inactivity where he just cruises past opponents.
