UFC 214 preview: Go ‘Inside the Octagon’ for ‘Cormier vs Jones 2’

Remember when Jon Jones was banned from UFC main events?

This Saturday night’s (July 29, 2017) pay-per-view (PPV) headliner in Anaheim, Calif., would suggest otherwise, as “Bones” looks to break longtime division rival Daniel Cormier and move on to bigger and better things.

Like a heavyweight super fight against Brock Lesnar.

The aging Cormier, meanwhile, wants to prove that he’s the real champion at 205 pounds, and not just the guy who won gold when Jones was suspended for being Jones, among other things.

If not, expect waterworks.

We’ve spent plenty of time talking about how they match up outside the Octagon, so now — just two days away from fight night — we’ll go “Inside the Octagon” with former UFC welterweight Dan Hardy and MMA analyst John Gooden in what is one of the most detailed breakdowns on the ‘Net.

Good stuff.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 214 fight card on fight night (click here), starting with the Fight Pass "Prelims" matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET, then the remaining undercard balance on FXX at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET.
