UFC 214 salaries: Eleven fighters clear six-figure mark in earnings

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier led the way for the disclosed payroll at UFC 214, serving as one of 11 fighters to clear the six-figure mark in earnings for his performance in Anaheim, Calif. on Saturday night. The California State Athletic Commission released the event’s finalized salary information this weekend to MMA Fighting.

Cormier suffered a third-round knockout loss to Jones in a long-anticipated rematch at UFC 214 to lose his light heavyweight title. Cormier was paid a flat $1,000,000 purse in the losing effort, as previously reported by MMA Fighting, while Jones earned a flat $500,000 purse with no win bonus in victory.

UFC 214 took place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The night’s main card aired live on pay-per-view.

The nine other UFC 214 fighters who cleared the six-figure mark in earnings were: UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley ($500,000), Robbie Lawler ($300,000), UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg ($200,000), Donald Cerrone ($155,000), Jimi Manuwa ($120,000), Demian Maia ($110,000), Volkan Oezdemir ($110,000), Ricardo Lamas ($106,000), and Tonya Evinger ($100,000).

In addition to their commission-reported salaries, Jones, Oezdemir, Brian Ortega and Renato Moicano also took home $50,000 fight night bonuses for their performances.
