UFC Middleweight Suspended Two Years By USADA

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight, Bruno Silva, has been hit with a two-year suspension from mixed martial arts (MMA) after failing a pre-fight drug test from United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), according to a report from MMA Fighting.

Silva, 30, tested positive for boldenone ahead of his Octagon debut against Deron Winn at UFC Greenville last June. Prior to signing with UFC, the 19-6 “Blindado” held the 185-pound title for M-1 Global overseas.

The Silva camp maintains their fighter’s innocence and will attempt to clear the Brazilian’s name.

UFC renewed its contract with USADA back in late 2018 and promised to increase drug testing by as much as 40 percent. That said, several policy changes have been implemented in the wake of countless false-positives.
