UFC prospect Sean O’Malley recalls smoking weed with Snoop Dogg: ‘I was puffin’ and passin’, trying to keep up’

Sean O’Malley has blazed his way to into the MMA world.

The 22-year-old prospect recently made headlines by picking up an impressive walk-off knockout in the second installment Dana White’s Tuesday Night Conternder Series, which took place at The Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas.

O’Malley slept bantamweight fighter Alfred Khashakyan with a straight right in the last minute of the first round. The impressive finish over Khashakyan was enough to get the unbeaten O’Malley the only UFC contract awarded that night on the show.

But despite getting a contract with the biggest MMA promotion, picking up 8,000 new Instagram followers, and earning $10,000, which is the most he’s ever made for a fight, O’Malley’s highlight that night in Las Vegas was something different.

“After the fight, Snoop Dogg’s body guard came up to me and said, ‘hey, Snoop wants to see you,’ and that right there was the best part of it all,” O’Malley told Ariel Helwani on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.

“I knew going into the fight that Snoop Dogg was commentating, and on previous interviews, I said that I was going to go out there and make Snoop want to meet me and that’s exactly what happened. On the Snoop Cast he said, ‘I want to meet that kid,’ and that was huge, that was my favorite part about all of this.”

The legendary hip hop artists was in attendance that night at DWTNCS 2, as he’s part of an alternative broadcast team for the show that includes former WEC champion Urijah Faber. Snoop Dogg was very impressed with O’Malley’s performance, so he invited the MMA Lab product back to his trailer for a quick celebration.

“Right when I walked into his trailer, he handed me a joint and I was pumped,” O’Malley said. “It felt like a movie because I walked into his trailer and he’s got his body guards, he’s got a couple of other people in there, and there was like three joints going around.

“I was puffin’ and passin’, trying to keep up, and they had a TV in there playing highlights of my fight, so were watching that and smoking, it was so much fun. It was only like 20 or 30 minutes, but it was a good time and a memory forever.”
