Video: White Reveals Cyborg Vs. Nunes Is Coming Up Next

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White is tying a ribbon on another successful pay-per-view (PPV) event, as UFC 222 took place last night (Sat., March 3, 2018) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the main event of the evening, Cris Cyborg dismantled Yana Kunitiskaya in the first round to add yet another title defense to her ever-growing resume (full recap here). And while White was impressed with the win, he wasn’t shy in proclaiming what’s next for the dominant champion, revealing that a fight against women’s Bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes is the one to make.

“I want it. It’s the fight to make, it’s the fight everybody wants and it’s the fight that should’ve happened tonight or whatever. We need to make that fight, that is the one to make. Yes. Cyborg can’t make 135, so this fight would be for the 45 pound title.”

The only obstacle is, Nunes is already lined up to defend her 135-pound strap against Raquel Pennington at UFC 224 on May 12, 2018. So if “Rocky” can upset “Lioness,” White’s dream fight could go down the toilet.

As for Ortega’s win over Edgar, Dana was as impressed as anyone, confirming “T-City” would be next for featherweight champion Max Holloway. Click play in the embedded video player above to see what UFC’s head honcho thought of the rest of the card.
