Video: WWE’s Stephanie McMahon takes shot at Ronda Rousey’s losses, slams her through table

Ronda Rousey took part in a time-honored professional wrestling tradition on Monday, though on this occasion it was her character getting the short end of the stick.

Following a segment that saw Rousey and partner Kurt Angle trade heated words with real-life and onscreen authority figures Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, who they will face in a tag team match at WrestleMania 34 this coming Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, the four WWE superstars got physical.

The four engaged in a brief scuffle and it was McMahon and her husband who came out triumphant after McMahon picked Rousey up and drove her through a table.

The preceding dialogue mined Rousey’s MMA past for material, with McMahon taking a shot at the how the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion dealt with her losses inside the Octagon. Rousey’s last two MMA appearances saw her being knocked out in brutal fashion and she has received criticism for how she has approached (or avoided) talking about those losses when the subject is brought up in interviews.

“Ronda, just remember that you chose this path. This is all on you,” McMahon said in Monday’s segment. “You are going to lose at WrestleMania. In the record books, your very first match in WWE is going to be a loss to me.

“And we all know — The world knows how you handle losses.”

Things escalated from there and the ensuing action ended with Rousey left laying just six days before her in-ring WWE debut.
