Michael “Venom” Page almost got his third Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bout out of the way quicker than expected.
“MVP,” 37, attended the fight week activities for UFC 304 in Manchester, England this past week. However, things almost went south when the one-time Bellator Welterweight title challenger nearly came to blows with ... undefeated 12-0 UFC Bantamweight prospect, Farid Basharat...?
That’s according to Casuals Corner on Twitter, which alleged the two got into an altercation at the event’s fighter hotel. Footage of the near scuffle can be seen in the embedded player above.
UFC Featherweight, Alexander Volkanovski, and UFC Lightweight, Jared Gordon, look like they appear in the video, trying to restore order between their peers. Unfortunately, there’s no audio to hear what may have been said.
Page last fought when he took on Ian Machado Garry at UFC 303 last month (June 29, 2024). The fight came a handful of months after Page made a successful debut in the promotion with a unanimous decision win over Kevin Holland at UFC 299 in March 2024. Unfortunately for the Brit, his sophomore appearance resulted in a unanimous decision loss against Garry.
Basharat, 26, has gone 3-0 in the Octagon since he won his way onto the roster with a unanimous decision win over Allan Begosso on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2022. Basharat and his brother, Javid, have been two of the more promising prospects in the 135-pound division.
While it remains unknown why Page and Basharat may have gotten into a heated exchange, at least we can tell the Bantamweight isn’t concerned about taking on bigger opponents
