Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has a Mexican “Wolverine” on its hands ...
It has been almost two weeks since Norma Dumont maimed Irene Aldana at UFC 306 inside The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During their fight, Aldana was split open by an accidental head butt, and throughout the bout, the nasty cut got worse and worse. By the end of the 15-minute bout, the Mexican’s face a bloody mess and had one of the worst cuts in UFC history (check it out here).
Aldana was rushed to the hospital after receiving more than 50 stitches for her gruesome cut. Today (Thurs., Sept. 26, 2024), Aldana — who dropped a unanimous decision to Dumont — posted a video on her Instagram of her face without stitches, and surprisingly, she has recovered pretty quickly.

Aldana, 36, will have a nice scar to share with her friends and family for long after she is done fighting. She is 2-2 in her last four fights, which includes a very disappointing title fight loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 289 in Jun. 2023.
She is currently ranked No. 6 in the women’s Bantamweight division.
