McGregor Vs. ‘Bud’ Crawford!?

Conor McGregor and Terence Crawford were apparently in talks for a two-fight deal in both boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA), but “Bud” eventually ruled against it. “Notorious” was more than willing if they could have pulled it off, especially with “hundreds of millions on the line.”
As you know, McGregor is still waiting to return to the Octagon after a layoff that goes all the way back to his injury at UFC 264 in July 2021. The UFC superstar and former two-division champion was booked for his comeback fight at UFC 303 this past July, but a broken toe knocked him out of his anticipated clash with Michael Chandler.
McGregor, who claims to be ready to go, has yet to come to terms on a new date and opponent for his return.
Instead, the brash Irishman has been left to his own devices. This includes ongoing training wherever he travels, random pop ups at bareknuckle boxing and U.K. boxing events, and some self promotion for the various companies he works with. With free time on his hands, McGregor jumped on a Duelbits stream this week and ended up talking crap about everyone and anyone that was brought up for discussion.
One fighter McGregor did not slight was Crawford, who is widely regarded as one of the best boxers in the world right now. In fact, McGregor revealed that he was in talks with Crawford for a potential two-fight deal in MMA and boxing. McGregor claims it would have been a fight worth “hundreds of millions,” but Crawford decided against it.

“Crawford is very slick, he also has a wrestling background pedigree,” said McGregor during the Duelbits stream on Kick. “You know they’re always talking to me about bouts. I’ve already boxed a boxer, and the best boxer in MMA is me.
“I generate the most [money]. We were talking back and forth about a two-fight deal. He rings up Crawford in front of me the day after the fights. I get on the phone and say ‘Crawford, they’re here talking about you and me; two-fight deal, MMA first, boxing second.
“I know you have an extensive wrestling background, and balls the size of a Bengal tiger. They’re asking for a fight, it’ll be hundreds of millions on the line. ‘What’s up?’, I said and then he goes, ‘I don’t fancy taking a kick off Conor McGregor’, that’s what he said. You have to respect that.”
What do you think, Maniacs? Would you have liked to see McGregor vs. Crawford in MMA and boxing? Or should McGregor stop talking about dream fights before he actually returns to UFC?
Sound off!
