Fans Dupe UFC Broadcast Partner With Phony-Bony Poster
Whoopsies!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the most iconic arena in the world, Madison Square Garden, in T-minus 10 days. In the main event of UFC 309, UFC Heavyweight Jon Jones makes his long-awaited return to active competition after a devasting injury against former Heavyweight kingpin Stipe Miocic. The co-main is an epic rematch between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira.
Today (Wed., Nov. 6, 2024), UFC's broadcasting partner for the UK and Ireland, TNT Sports, tweeted a poster of UFC 309 to hype up the event. However, the poster that they tweeted was a fan-made poster that criticizes the main event and shows some glaring issues with the fight—including both Jones' and Miocic's inactivity.
Check out the hilarious screw-up below:
The official UFC on TNT account accidentally tweeted out the edited version of the UFC 309 poster and immediately deleted it pic.twitter.com/MyYSZvfkth

The tweet was up for maybe two minutes max before it was deleted.
If you're wondering if it's a photoshopped tweet, the same Twitter user screen recorded it.

Many Twitter users caught the mistake, and while many people said, "Some intern is going to get fired," fans generally believe the poster is telling the truth.
The other running theory is that Tom Aspinall accessed the UFC on TNT's social media account and posted it, which could be true - you know, because he does some work for the broadcasting partner.
