Darren Till predicts Conor McGregor beats ‘Cowboy’ in first round

Move over “Mystic Mac,” make room for “Divining Darren.”

Former welterweight contender Darren Till took to social media on Friday to express his excitement over the upcoming UFC 246 main event between Conor McGregor and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. It will be McGregor’s first fight since October 2018 and though the Irish star hasn’t seen his hand raised in over three years, Till is warning prognosticators not to underestimate McGregor.

“Both are right up for this, Cowboy’s camp have more to be concerned with than just Conor’s left hand though,” Till wrote. “As a southpaw, it’s not the left hand. It’s the set-ups from the left hand, the spinning kicks, the feints, angles, etc. It all draws you onto the left hand.”

Till’s analysis is in regards to McGregor’s famed left-hand punching power, which played a large part in his rise to UFC stardom as he knocked off the likes of Eddie Alvarez, Jose Aldo, and Chad Mendes. In the build-up to his fights, McGregor has become famous for predicting when and how his fights would end, and Till—who finished Cerrone with strikes inside of a round when they met two years ago—has his own prediction for how the UFC 246 headliner will play out.

“I’ve got Conor first-round TKO, feel like the occasion may just be too much for Cowboy,” Till wrote. “But that’s just my opinion, Cowboy’s been around a lot longer than me and knows a hell of a lot more.”

I cannot f*cking wait for Conor x Cowboy next week.

Feels like the old Conor is back.

Both are right up for this, Cowboy’s camp have more to be concerned with than just Conor’s left hand though.

As a southpaw, it’s not the left hand.

It’s the set-ups from the left hand, the spinning kicks, the feints, angles, etc.

It all draws you onto the left hand.

Also that’s just not what he brings!

You don’t beat who he beat by just having a left hand.

If I would have taken my own advice above against Masvidal rather than just coming out to try and steamroll him. But he done me fair and good!

Anyway, let’s see a f*cking tear-up next week!

I’ve got Conor first-round TKO, feel like the occasion may just be too much for Cowboy! But that’s just my opinion, Cowboy’s been around a long longer than me and knows a hell of a lot more.
