Knockout! Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor full fight video highlights

The “super” fight of all “super” fights is finally in the books after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight champion Conor McGregor squared off with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. last night (Sat., Aug. 26, 2017) live on Showtime pay-per-view (PPV) from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. After 10 rounds of entertaining and competitive action, Mayweather cashed in yet again in a huge spot. In the end, Mayweather’s hands proved too much for McGregor as “Money” walked away with the TKO victory in Round 10.

McGregor opened up early and aggressively. He pressured Mayweather around the ring, landing a slick counter uppercut and keeping the undefeated boxer guessing. Mayweather landed his first clean shots in the second round, snapping McGregor’s head back in the process. But the UFC champ responded with a hard right counter before switching stances like he does inside of the Octagon. McGregor was warned multiple times for punches behind the head but no point was deducted.

McGregor would land a nasty right hand accompanied by a persistent jab in Round 4, but Mayweather responded with his own offensive onslaught. At times, McGregor seemed tired, but the Irishman kept slinging leather and quickly countered when given the chance. McGregor started to lean on his grappling skills to tie “Money” up and force him to fight dirty. Once Mayweather separated he landed straight punches to McGregor’s body.

Entering round six, McGregor looked dog tired. The Irishman’s output over the course of the first few rounds clearly played a role. At one point, McGregor had Mayweather wrapped up from behind and landed hooks to the body. Mayweather came back in a huge way, pressing McGregor around the ring and landing hard combinations. McGregor hung in tough, showing show pop as the round came to an end.

Mayweather had another offensive onslaught in Round 7, peppering McGregor at will as the UFC champion shifted around the ring. McGregor was able to showcase some crisp head work before landing a crisp counter. The Irishman would follow up his efforts in the ninth round by landing a huge left hook to the body that hurt Mayweather. Mayweather regrouped and unloaded on the Irishman. He had McGregor on wobbly legs as he slammed countless power shots into his durable chin. McGregor somehow survived the barrage as the Vegas crowd got wild.

At the start of Round 10, Mayweather caught McGregor bad. He buckled McGregor on multiple occasions but the UFC champ refused to go down. After hard combinations along the ropes, Mayweather put a final stamp on the fight. He hurt McGregor bad with right hands and forced the referee to jump in for the TKO stoppage.

This was a wild fight. Mayweather took a lot more damage than people initially predicted, but ultimately showed up when it mattered most. McGregor proved a lot of doubters wrong with his performance, but came up short on the tail end of a barrage of right hands late into the fight.
