UFC Vegas 100 has taken a massive hit.
Multiple sources have informed MMAMania.com that former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight Cody Garbrandt has been forced to withdraw from this weekend’s co-main event of UFC Vegas 100, which will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was scheduled to face Miles Johns. UFC is looking to keep Johns on the historic Apex card.
BJPenn.com was the first to report the news.
Garbrandt (14-6) is coming off a second-round submission loss to Deiveson Figueiredo back at UFC 300 in April (watch highlights). The loss snapped his two-fight winning streak in which he knocked out Brian Kelleher and defeated Trevin Jones. “No Love” has only won four out of his last ten fights.
This is super disappointing news for Johns (15-2, 1 NC), as Garbrandt is by far the most prominent name he would have fought. “Chapo” is riding a three-fight winning streak with a no-contest thrown in due to a failed drug test.
Earlier today (Tues., Nov. 5, 2024), it was reported that Nicolas Dalby is also out of UFC Vegas 100. UFC newcomer Zach Scroggin will now face Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos on the “Prelims.”
