LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - It’s better to be safe than sorry ...

Following UFC Vegas 96 last night (Sat., Aug. 24, 2024) in Las Vegas, Nevada, sources confirmed to MMAMania.com that Jared Cannonier was transported to the local hospital for a precautionary CT scan of his head and face following his main event brawl with Caio Borralho.

It makes complete sense because, at the end of round five, Cannonier was nearly knocked unconscious following a nasty 1-2 that sent him crashing to the floor. He then took massive elbows and punches but survived.

Check out the sequence below:

Cannonier, 40, has now lost two straight for the first time since 2018, which is crazy because a year ago, he was a fight away from challenging for the Middleweight title again. However, now he might be in the 185 lbs “gatekeeper” position.

Hopefully, he will take the rest of 2024 off to recover, you know, since he fought against Borralho two months after getting finished by Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Louisville (watch highlights). Nevertheless, “Killa Gorilla” is 2-3 in his last five fights and will look to bounce back.

He received a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus, which will help a little.
